- The package looks abandoned. A number of known issues reported by users have not been addressed in a year.

- It's not clear why HTML entities are required in a UTF-8 encoded document beyond characters with special meaning (e.g. "<" and ">"). I'm not an expert though.

- A suggestion for next major version: use built-in XML functions rather than string concatenation.
